Pasig City doesn’t need quarantine passes -Mayor Vico Sotto

coronavirus quarantine pass pasig city

On Saturday, our house was one of the many homes that barangay personnel in Pasig City visited to issue a quarantine pass with. Apparently, to strengthen the already strict enhanced community quarantine implemented in Luzon, now only one person who has a quarantine pass can go out for food, medicine, and other essentials.

However, this brought about some concerns such as:

  • What if the head of the household is over 60, isn’t that riskier for them to go out?
  • What if the one given the pass doesn’t know how to drive?
  • What if the one given the pass suddenly gets sick?

Today, Sunday, Pasig City Mayo Vico Sotto clarified with the PNP NCRPO and Joint Task Force CV SHIELD that a quarantine pass is unnecessary.

“We do NOT need Quarantine Passes WITHIN Pasig jurisdiction,” the mayor wrote on Facebook.

He added:

STAY HOME.

Again, the mayor can’t emphasize enough to stay home for non-essential travel.

In a desperate bid to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered enhanced community quarantine in the entire Luzon until April 12.

This imposed a strict home quarantine in all households. Public transportation is suspended. Provision for food and essential health services is regulated. The presence of uniformed personnel to enforce quarantine procedures is heightened.
