After months of denying that a romance had blossomed between them, Paolo Contis and Yen Santos may have just celebrated the latter’s birthday with an intimate dinner date.
Netizens couldn’t help but notice how similar their photos were on Instagram Stories, both of which were posted at the same time, which then sparked rumors that the two were together. Yen’s photo showed a romantic dinner set-up outdoors with just a table and two chairs, surrounded by some lamps and bouquets of roses, and with fairy lights hanging above it.
“Birthday dinner,” she said in the caption.
Meanwhile, Paolo shared a selfie where the background looked exactly like the set-up in Yen’s story. “Dinner time…” he said on his post, adding birthday cake emojis. He also secretly tagged the birthday girl on the Story, which netizens quickly discovered.
This comes after netizens also spotted Paolo secretly tagging his “A Faraway Land” costar in an Instagram Story selfie where he said, “Pssssst… good morning!”
The two have been criticized over the months, speculating that Yen was the reason behind Paolo’s breakup with long-term girlfriend LJ Reyes. The two had unfollowed everyone on Instagram amid the rumors which were then confirmed by Paolo’s talent manager Lolit Solis in August before LJ broke her silence on it in an interview with Boy Abunda in September. At the time when the interview was posted, Paolo was spotted with Yen in Baguio, though he said that it was nothing more than two friends hanging out. Paolo also asserted that Yen had nothing to do with the breakup in his official statement regarding the controversy and that they were only friends.
Yen has yet to speak up on the speculations.
