PAMANA is a fashion auction of curated secondhand clothing by the UP Association of Clothing Technology students. The pre-loved clothing up for bidding has been selected with a keen eye for style and dedication to quality.
This event was created to be a fun, alternative venue for finding your new closet favorite. Fast fashion retailers are booming at the cost of negative environmental impacts and ethical issues with labor practices.
Reusing or upcycling secondhand clothing promotes a more sustainable practice by extending the lifespan of clothing that could potentially end up in a landfill. Instead of spending money impulsively at the sight of a sale sign at your local mall, this fashion auction is a personal, more thoughtful shopping experience where you set the limit of a clothing item’s ultimate value relative to your budget.
The base price for bidding starts low, so get ready because bidding wars are bound to ensue! Who knows? Maybe you’ll be the lucky guy or gal on the other end of the words, “sold to the highest bidder!” Raise your bidding paddles with us on May 5, 2017 at 7PM, University Hotel, UP Diliman.
