Pacquiao’s Camp Responds To Ban By Mall In LA

The shopping mall, the Grove in Los Angeles, California, has banned boxing champ Manny Pacquiao a second time over his controversial comments against same-sex marriage.

Manny Pacquiao apologizes

The Grove already placed a temporary ban barring the boxer from entering their premises in 2012, over similar comments made, brought to light by a blogger. The ban was later lifted after the blogger’s phrasing of Pacquiao’s words was called into question.

Pacquiao arrived in Los Angeles with his family last Sunday, to train for his fight against Timothy Bradley on April 9.

While the boxer himself has kept mum on social and political issues since his same-sex marriage comments his camp issued the following via statement:

“It is America and the owner of the Grove is entitled to make that decision to ban Manny Pacquiao. However, it is a shame that he is punishing someone for expressing his religious beliefs.”
