This highly popular manga just landed on the Guinness World Records as the best-selling comic book series in history!!
According to reports, 320,866,000 copies of One Piece was printed worldwide, starting from December 1997 to December 2014. That is a whole lot of copies!!
One Piece, created by Eiichiro Oda, now holds the record for most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author, previously held by another iconic series, the Dragon Ball manga by Akira Toriyama.
A ceremony was held in Tokyo for the award, but Oda was not present at the event. He later said, however, that he will continue to draw works that “will not shame this record”.
Since its debut in 1997, One Piece has been published in over 30 countries!
