The singer explained that her biological mother, Nanay Susan, had received the amount when she entrusted Angeline to Mama Bob. Her adoptive mother raised her from birth until her passing in 2020.

According to Angeline, learning the exact figure brought up mixed emotions.

“Oo naman. ‘Yun lang ba ‘yung halaga ko?” she said. She also added that, over time, she has learned to focus on gratitude. “Pag naririnig ko ‘yung ganyan, pinagsasalamat ko nalang din kasi kung hindi dahil kay Mama Bob, baka hindi ako buhay ngayon.”

In the interview, Angeline recounted what she had been told about her early beginnings. She shared that her biological mother had once planned to work in Japan while pregnant with her, and that the pregnancy made those plans difficult to pursue. Based on what she learned, Mama Bob encouraged Nanay Susan to continue the pregnancy, something Angeline looks back on with appreciation.

Angeline also talked about meeting her biological mother for the first time around 15 years ago. She remembered the encounter as emotional, with Nanay Susan confirming the ₱10,000 story and sharing the challenges she faced at the time. According to Angeline, it was overwhelming to finally meet the person whose name she had grown up hearing.

When asked about their relationship today, Angeline shared that they are on good terms. She mentioned that while she sometimes isn’t able to reply right away, she believes her biological family understands.

Through the years, Angeline has expressed gratitude for both women who played significant roles in her life—her biological mother and Mama Bob, who raised and cared for her from the beginning.
