OFW SME Christmas Expo Set on December 15-16

OFW & SME EXPO 2015 for WIM

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) expected the growth to quicken in the coming 2016. ADB projected a 6.3% Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for 2016. They also lowered their forecast on inflation rate from 3.3% to 3%.

These key economic indicators augur well for OFWs who wanted to return and stay for good in the Philippines, and start their own business.

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) reported that cash remittances from overseas Filipinos amounted to $12.08 billion in the first six months of the year, $637 million higher compared to $11.45 billion in the same period last year.

The increased cash remittance of the OFWs show the potential of the sector to further contribute to the economy’s growth by investing their money to business.

Several OFW entrepreneur success stories have been reported and documented, indicating that the sector has the capacity to jump to entrepreneurship, given the proper guidance and education they can enlarge their economic role in the country’s further development.

There are 12 Million OFWs working all over the world, these numbers can add.
