O Yeong-su Wins First Golden Globe for South Korea

Who was your favorite Squid Game character? I don’t know about you, but the one that touched my heart the most (at least in the earlier episodes before everything fell into place and revelations were made lol) was Oh Il-nam, Player 001. He was such a sweet old man (at least in the beginning lol) and he reminded me so much of my dad.

Anyway, Squid Game has been making waves all over the globe since it was released on Netflix last September 2021. To make matters even better for the hit show, actor O Yeong-su won a Golden Globe award on Sunday for his role as Il-nam.

The 77-year-old won Best Supporting Actor in Television, becoming the first Korean actor to win a Golden Globe award. He was nominated alongside Brett Goldstein, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, and Kieran Culkin.
