When In Manila, find out the reason why that boy next door doesn’t even glance at you or why your pretty seatmate won’t even bother to ask your name. “Bakit Di Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo?” will answer all your questions, in actual situations on-screen. Starring Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, the movie will bring light to the puzzle you’ve been wanting to solve.
Sandy Veloso. Fashionably illiterate, clumsy klutz and a hopeless romantic. She was dumped by her boyfriend, went hysterical and loss her job because of it. Sandy loves from her heart but she doesn’t seem to know how to make the guy love her the way she does. She’s cute, hardworking and extremely funny. But her weird eccentric ways turn guys off. Should she change herself? Or should she just find someone who will love her for who she is? Or maybe she just needs to get rid of her neon colored clothes, sabog hair and thick eyebrows, then she’s good to go.
Kim Chiu’s take on how to know if your crush doesn’t like you back.
“Ayaw nya ako kasama. ” Kim Chiu, the actress portarying Sandy, admits. She even goes as far as playing games meant for boys just to be with her childhood crush. Although she remembers them playing luto-lutuan so they could “accidentally” touch hands. But one time, while she was hanging out with the boys, she was suddenly left alone without her consent.
Alex Prieto. The young and handsome CEO is Sandy’s employer. He fired Sandy but then rehires her after realizing that he actually turned a top employee jobless and most importantly because he needed her help in managing the company. They then formed an unusual friendship and even offered to be her Fairy Godfather who will turn the ugly duckling Sandy into a beautiful swan, or will he actually be her Prince Charming instead?
Xian Lim gives a reason on why your crush doesn’t see you the way you see him or her.
“Maybe because panget ka… sa mga mata ng crush mo.” Xian Lim as Alex Prieto says. He defends his answer stating that it doesn’t necessarily mean that you are unattractive, but rather you might not be your crush’s ideal type. As they say, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
Lovers off-screen, on-screen and on the silver screen! The real life couple who starred in My Binondo Girl and Ina Kapatid Anak, now hits it off with their first light romantic comedy movie that will once again show their undeniable chemistry.
As Sandy tries to help Alex’s company, Alex on the other hand helps her get over her ex.
Will romance bloom in between?
And when yes for an answer seems like a happy ending, Callalily’s lead vocalist Kean Cipriano as Gardo comes into the picture. He’s both the antagonist and the cupid of the show. If it wasn’t for him, Sandy and Alex wouldn’t have had a relationship to begin with.
Gardo is a musician like Kean. He needs Sandy to succeed in the music industry, the reason why he dated her in the first place. Although a girl magnet, user and a player in the film, Kean can still pull off a Gardo, minus the using and playing. When girls he’s not into confess their feelings to him? Well, he just says thank you, rather than being like Gardo who squeezes out whatever he wants from the girl that likes him.
Directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal, the taping is said to be fun and the actors learned a lot from their director. They also stated how much they trust her even with how thick Kim Chiu’s eyebrows should be. From Kim and Xian’s heavy drama to heavy comedy, Direk Joyce certainly transitioned them well. “Binabayaran ito (the movie) ng tao…” they say, that’s why they gave their very best for this hilarious yet lovable film.
Based on Ramon Bautista’s best selling self help book of the same title, “Bakit Di Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo?” is the first book turned into a movie in the Philippines after years of waiting for another adaptation. Learn why he doesn’t like you back or simply the steps on how to get over him fast, all while laughing out loud from the characters’ antics. It’s funny because it’s real. 😉
“Bakit Di Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo?” is now showing in theaters nationwide! So When In Manila, remember, you’re attractive. From what I learned from the book, either your crush just doesn’t see what everyone else sees or maybe just too shy to approach you. If not, maybe you really need to fix your clothes, hair and eyebrows. Or better yet, embrace yourself and never be afraid to be in the NBSB crowd (I’m a part of it and proud!). Someone a whole lot better will come along. Till the next guy… I mean, till next time! 🙂
