Nomama – A Dash of Japan on a Splash of Ramen

 

Chicken wings are something to love especially when you get them fried, buffalo-style and you have a saucy dip nearby. Having it on ramen like the Braised Chicken Wing Ramen poses a different experience, a beautiful one that is. Plus an onsen egg on the bowl makes it one more level delicious.

Nomama Ramen is the restaurant’s own noodle dish consisting of special miso base, house pork stock, chasu (thin slices of pork), and onsen egg. It is a creamy bowl of noodles, and the pork and onsen egg make quite an ensemble.

For ramen with a kick, the Ox Tongue and Chili Tofu Ramen is a nice invite to try. The soft ox tongue and the even softer tofu makes this bowl of ramen worth the heated dive. It may be hot but not hot enough to overwhelm the taste buds. A miss of this ramen though is that it seems to lack the richness that is expected from it.

If you like laksa, you will also like Nomama’s Thai Green Curry Ramen with Chicken. This ramen has a thick broth and contains that Thai flavor that is easy to remember – coconut milk plus fish sauce. Topped with juicy chicken, this bowl is something not to miss.

After consuming those bowls of ramen, we ended lunch with a sweet note. We were given Flourless Chocolate Cake and Kit Kat Bar to try.

 

The flourless chocolate cake was interesting since I cannot imagine how you can have a pastry without flour. Anyway, maybe that leaves more space for the chocolate to fill. Better right?

The Kit Kat bar is a bit surprising since it did not come it the usual presentation of, well, a Kit Kat bar. It is in a bar form though and offers that crunchiness, like KitKat.
