Netizens React: Bus Hits Orange Barriers and Scatters them in EDSA, Drives Away

Video by Ian Santos

Netizen Ian Santos sent this video to TopGear Ph. Video showed a Joanna Jesh bus accelerating with another bus as they seem to be racing one another in the PUV lane of EDSA. The bus continues and hits the orange barrier made to separate the public utility vehicles and the private ones.

The orange barrier created a domino effect and scattered along the private lane causing private vehicles to suddenly stop while moving in an average speed.

This could’ve been a recipe for disaster as oncoming traffic could have piled over and caused a major traffic accident. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.

The worst part was that the bus did not make any effort to stop after the incident until it was “forced to stop.”

Direct Quote:

“My wife and I were driving southbound on EDSA and right before the Ayala intersection, you’ll see 2 buses in their designated lane racing with each other. The Joanna Jesh bus on the left veers left and hits the plastic barriers causing a domino effect, throwing the barriers onto oncoming traffic. To make it worse, the bus makes no effort to stop until forced to, a few hundred meters down the road. Luckily, no vehicles were damaged, no person was hurt, and no further accidents were caused by these idiotic drivers racing each other.”

These barriers were installed by the MMDA to separate buses from the private vehicles to lessen traffic and incidents like these.
