The National Bureau of Investigation claimed they will be conducting an investigation into Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III’s possible breach of quarantine.

“I understand Senator Pimentel is also being investigated,” NBI spokesperson Ferdinand Lavin told CNN Philippines on Wednesday.
However, he added that he is unsure when Pimentel will be summoned since he is still undergoing quarantine.
Senator Pimentel earlier drew the ire of the public after bringing his pregnant wife to Makati Medical Center despite his positive status as a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patient. The senator apologized to MMC but claimed that he “never intended to breach any protocol.”
MMC later responded to his apology by noting it.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra previously said the NBI has the liberty to conduct its own fact-finding investigation concerning the incident. Pimentel will be allowed to explain his side of the story.
