When it was announced that the NBA would be staging their very first pre-season game in Southeast Asia here in Manila on October 10th, 2013, with the Houston Rockets and the Indiana Pacers battling each other, I couldnโt contain my excitement upon hearing the news and found myself biting my lip to keep myself from screaming.ย

At the end of the press conference, they raffled away officially-licensed Adidas jerseys of Houston Rocketsโ pint guard, Jeremy Lin, and Indiana Pacersโ small forward/shooting guard, Paul George to members of the audience.

The Houston Rockets will be led by two of the most talented players in the NBA Players today, All-Star James Harden and Chinese-American Jeremy Lin. Whilst the Indiana Pacers has Danny Granger, Paul George and David Hibbert in their roster.
SM and NBA will be hosting various activities throughout 2013 in order to build up for the preseason game. Appearances by NBA talents and community events held by NBA Cares are some of the activities slated for the year.
This game is part of the NBAโs global games schedule, with eight teams playing in eight cities in six countries throughout the month of October.

The last time the NBA held such an event was during 1979, when the Washington Bullets played against the PBA All-Stars in Quezon City.
