The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is set to open its Institute of Traffic Management (ITM) that will educate traffic management personnel on traffic laws in the metro, according to a report by The Philippine Star.

According to the report, the ITM will open on April 13, and will serve as the country’s “premiere educational institution for training and continuing education of all traffic management personnel, traffic enforcers, and traffic accident investigators of both local and national government agencies.”

The report also said that the ITM is authorized to grant certificates of training competency to those who have completed their training at the institute.

The report also said that ITM intends to impose compliance among motorists “through the establishment of a more efficient and effective traffic enforcement systems and agencies link-up while improving the integrity of MMDA and local traffic enforcers.”

According to the report, MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino hopes that the ITM will help produce more disciplined motorists and well-rounded traffic personnel on the road.
