Alongside her preparations for the Miss Universe 2023 competition, Michelle Dee added another milestone to serve her countrymen. On September 2, the Miss Universe Philippines organization announced that the 28-year-old officially began her training to join the Philippine Air Force.
“She knows that it’s going to be very challenging, but it’s something she really wants to do for the country. As Michelle Marquez Dee says, ‘Service first,'” the post read.
In the photos, the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 is seen having a meeting with the military officers while wearing a military camouflage cap and sash.
“We salute Michelle Marquez Dee’s dedication to serve!” the organization concluded.

Dee was named a Goodwill Ambassador of the Autism Society of the Philippines in 2020 and Miss World Philippines in 2019. She has also been vocal about supporting the LGBTQ+ community, especially after she came out as bisexual.
In May, Dee was crowned as the Miss Universe Philippines 2023. She’ll represent the country in this year’s Miss Universe in November, to be held in El Salvador.
