Due to having the most number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mandaluyong City, the local government unit is placing Barangay Addition Hills under total lockdown for one week.
According to a Facebook post by Mayor Menchie Abalos, the strict lockdown will begin on Thursday, May 7, upon the agreement of local barangay and health officials. During this time, no one will be allowed to go out of their homes, not even to make essential purchases of groceries and medicines. Mayor Abalos assured its 3,000 residents, however, that they will be distributing food packs to each household starting Tuesday, May 5.
The city government will also conduct rapid testing for its residents during the weeklong period.
As of May 5, 4 PM, Barangay Addition Hills has 57 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 162 suspected cases. The total number of confirmed cases in Mandaluyong City is at 423 with 36 deaths and 97 recoveries.
