It has been five years since we’ve last seen Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin–collectively known as W.I.T.C.H, the badass girl guardians of the universe that we’ve come to know through the comic books.
And it seems that they are coming back!
The W.I.T.C.H. comics, which followed five teenagers given special powers over specific elements to defend the earth from evil, had a great run for 11 years, and it was probably on the shelves of most girls who drew a lot of inspiration from these girl heroes. Yen Press just tweeted a photo from the San Diego Comic Convention where it was announced that the Disney comic will be returning this year.

Sources say that there will be new graphic novels to watch out for, and that new English translations of the first issues of the comic (W.I.T.C.H. is produced in Italy) will also be released.
