Can you believe that the band 6cyclemind just celebrated its 19th anniversary?
Band vocalist Tutti Caringal wrote a tribute to the band, its fans, and supporters on Instagram. In his post, he said, “Sa lahat ng nakasama namin mula simula hanggang ngayon, araw natin to. Dahil wala kami kung wala kayo.”
[“To everyone who joined us from the beginning, this is our day. We wouldn’t be here without you.”]
Caringal went on to thank his bandmates and their supporters, including, “management, crew, RM’s, photographers/videographers, drivers, promoters, TV, radio, record companies, companies, brands, presidente, bise presidente, senador, congressman, governor, vice governor, mayor, vice mayor, konsehal, kapitan, kagawad, SK.”
He ended his message by saying, “Sa mga lumuha, ngumiti, nalasing, etc, dahil sa music namin, araw natin to. Dahil wala kami kung wala kayo. 19 years. Happy anniv sating lahat. See you soon. Mahaba pa byahe. Tuloy kami basta andiyan kayo. Salamat. Rakenrol.”
[“For everyone who cried, laughed, got drunk, etc. because of our music, this is our day. We wouldn’t be here without you. 19 years. Happy anniversary to us. See you soon. The journey is still long. We will keep going as long as you guys are there. Thank you. Rock and roll.”]
6cyclemind got their start in 2001. The band is composed of Caringal, Rye Sarmiento, Bob Cañamo, Herbert Hernandez, and Vic Aquino. Former members include Gibbz Magat, Chuck Isidro, and Ney Dimaculangan.
Their first album Permission to Shine was released in 2003, and had the songs “Biglaan”, “Paba”, “Sige”, “Nalilito“, and “Wait or Go.” They went on to release five more albums.
