If you’re spending Valentine’s Day with someone, you’re probably thinking of what to get for your date.
Patreng Non and the organizers of Community Pantry PH offered the gulay bouquet, which is the perfect gift while helping farmers.
According to Non, “Deserve natin lahat ng healthy na pagmamahal!” [“We all deserve healthy love.”]
Each gulay bouquet weighs five kilograms, and all proceeds will go to rescue operations for the harvests of farmers.
Sadly, Community Pantry PH already reached the maximum orders for bouquets. If you weren’t able to order, you may try again next year.
In the meantime, the pantry is offering quality onions from San Jose, Nueva Ecija.
According to Non, “Nung Lunes po ng gabi binisita kami ni Kuya Niel na isang magsasaka. Inaalok nya sa amin ng 120 pesos mula 180 pesos ang mga sibuyas. Tinanggihan namin sya sabi namin subukan natin sikapin bilhin sa tamang presyo. Dahil na din sa pang export ng DA napipilitan sila ibaba ang presyo na 40 pesos kada kilo. Hay! Pero laban! Sikapin natin i-claim ang deserve ng bawat isa sa atin!”
“We were visited by Kuya Niel, a farmer, on Monday night. He offered us onions for 120 pesos from its original price of 180 pesos. We declined the offer and said we’ll try to buy them at the right price. Because of the export of the Department of Agriculture, they are forced to bring down the price to 40 pesos per kilo. Hay. But we will fight! We’ll work hard to claim what we all deserve.”
