LOOK: The Overcrowded Philippine Jail

The AFP News Agency posted harrowing photos of the current situation of our overcrowded Philippine jail.

According to the Facebook post:

There are 3,800 inmates at the Quezon City jail in Manila, built six decades ago to house 800. The relentless contest for space has become increasingly worse as police wage an unprecedented war on crime, following the orders of new Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and his call to eliminate drugs in society. Today in the jail, men take turns to sleep on the cracked cement floor of an open-air basketball court, the steps of staircases, underneath beds and hammocks made out of old blankets.
