LOOK- The Duterte Administration Now Has a Tabloid

The Duterte administration has published a bi-monthly tabloid to be given to the public for free, to support its campaign for its programs, especially the war against the drugs.

The tabloid, called Mula sa Masa, Para sa Masa (From the Masses, For the Masses), was launched earlier this week in time for President Rodrigo Duterte’s 50th day as president.

For its debut issue, the headline showed Duterte with the caption, “Duterte Wagi sa Giyera Kontra Droga!” (“Duterte Wins War Against Drugs!”). The debut issue also has an entertainment section filled with blind items of celebrities who are allegedly into drugs. Sample headlines include, “Beauty queen bumatak muna bago maging preacher” and “actor nang-rape nang ma-high, syut sa Bilibid!”

The first issue focuses on Duterte’s anti-drug campaign, but Communications Secretary Martin Andanar revealed that future issues will focus on the administration’s other programs.

The tabloid will have eight pages, and will have 5,000 copies, printed for free by the government’s printing presses. An online version will be available in the next three weeks, as well as a TV show hosted by the president himself.
