LOOK: Pinay Teen Who Went Viral for Luxury Bag Debate Meets with Charles & Keith Founders

Zoe Gabriel (@zohtaco), a Pinay teen based in Singapore, recently went viral on TikTok after excitedly sharing about the first luxury bag she received from her father.

In a short video, she unboxes a black Double Handle Tote Bag from Charles & Keith, which is priced at approximately PHP 3,300.

The well-meaning video received a mocking (now deleted) comment saying “Who’s gonna tell her? ?”—implying that the bag wasn’t really luxurious.

Zoe Gabriel was quick to respond to the comment and posted another video sharing how she and her family didn’t have much when they first moved to Singapore.

“Your comment spoke volumes on how ignorant you seem because of your wealth,” she addresses the commenter.

Gabriel then continues to tearfully share how grateful she is that her father was able to buy her a bag with his hard-earned money.

These two videos sparked so much clamor online that the whole issue reached even the Singaporean brand Charles & Keith itself!

In an Instagram post, Gabriel reveals that she and her dad were invited to visit the Charles & Keith headquarters in Singapore. They even sat down with one of the brand’s founders and had lunch at the HQ.

In an e-mail to The Straits Times, a Charles & Keith spokesperson says:

“Our hearts really went out to Zoe, but we were so impressed with (how gracefully) she handled the situation, displaying wisdom far beyond her years and values that resonated with us greatly. Our founders believe that our products should spark joy, empower fashion lovers and give them confidence, something we believe she presented so eloquently in her video and for which we are so grateful.”

Zoe Gabriel’s original video now has more than 10 million views on TikTok.
