After stunning netizens with her stylish photos taken during the New York Fashion Week, LJ Reyes has taken to Instagram to share her reflections on the subject of love and to explain why setbacks in life won’t discourage her from giving her love to others.
“We don’t need chapter and verse. We have something better. Namely, Jesus’s new, all-encompassing, inescapably simple command. We are to do unto others as our heavenly Father, through Christ, has done unto us. He did what was best for us. We, in turn, are to do what’s best for others, even when less-than-what’s-best is embraced as acceptable by the others,” she began on her post on Instagram Stories.
“Love. Love fills the gaps. Love reduces the friction created by our limited insight, knowledge, and judgement-inhibiting experiences,” she continued. “There is much I don’t know. There are things I’ll never understand. But my ignorance does not impede my capacity to put others first.
”
She then admitted that despite the uncertainties in life and her ever-changing mindset, she won’t let them affect her capacity to love.
“So while I’m not always sure what to believe, and while my views on a variety of things continue to mature and change, I almost always know what love requires of me. I bet you do, too,” she ended.
LJ recently broke her silence amid news that she and her longtime partner, Paolo Contis, split up after netizens noticed that the actor had unfollowed her on social media and removed all their photos together. In a tell-all interview with Boy Abunda, LJ confirmed that they had separated ways.
“It was so difficult, it was so painful,” she said in tears.
“Matagal ko nang nararamdamang nakahiwalay na siya sa amin (I have long felt that he was distancing himself from us).”

LJ has since moved to New York City where she is now living at her family’s house with her two children. It is unclear if she will be staying there for good.
