LOOK: Here’s Your First Look at the New Studio Ghibli Movie ‘Aya to Majo’

Get ready to meet Aya from Studio Ghibli’s newest film, “Aya to Majo” (or “Aya and the Witch”)!

The Japanese studio officially revealed some stills from the movie that is based on the novel “Earwig and the Witch” written by Diana Wynne Jones, who also penned the novel that beloved film “Howl’s Moving Castle” was based on.

It will be Studio Ghibli’s first-ever CGI animated film. Check it out below!

The story follows an orphan girl named Aya who is adopted by a witch one day and comes home to a spooky house filled with mystery and magic. It will be directed by Miyazaki’s son, Goro Miyazaki, and produced by Toshio Suzuki.

“Aya to Majo” is scheduled for release on NHK this winter 2020.
