Gab Chee Kee joined Parokya ni Edgar on stage just a month after he was discharged from the hospital due to complications caused by lymphoma.

On social media, Chito Miranda said, “Nag-jam si Gab kagabi sa “Your Song” at saHalaga.” He assured his followers that Chee Kee asked permission from his doctor and that he was accompanied by a nurse the whole time.

He added, “As a friend, I was honestly worried, and wanted him to rest, and to simply enjoy the show from the sidelines.”

As a bandmate, however, Miranda found it an overwhelming experience. He said, “Sobrang saya lang ng feeling na naka-jam si Gab ulit…nakakakilabot. Sabi ko nga, kung hindi nyo kami tinulungan, wala na siguro si Gab ngayon… pero now, he’s slowly getting his strength back, and is on his way to making a full recovery.”

The Parokya ni Edgar frontman ended his post with, “Mahaba pa ang laban, pero we are slowly winning.”

Earlier this year, Miranda announced on social media that Chee Kee was diagnosed with lymphoma late last year and has been undergoing chemotherapy for the past few months.

He said, “Unfortunately, due to complications brought about by his condition, he is now battling pneumonia and was recently transferred sa ICU and has been intubated for more than a week already.”

Miranda also said, “He was financially prepared naman for the chemotherapy… but now, his family needs help with the overwhelming hospital bills.”

Parokya ni Edgar and musician friends held a series of fundraising gigs and auctioned off items, such as a guitar signed by all members of Eraserheads and the shirt worn by Francis Magalona in the music video of Parokya ni Edgar’s “Bagsakan.”

In March, Miranda shared that Chee Kee was discharged after minor and major operations. He will now continue with chemotherapy.
