The countdown has officially begun for the local release of the much-awaited Sony PlayStation 5. We’ve already talked about all the features that make the PS5 different from previous consoles, and now we’re going to hype you up even further by taking a closer look at the new DualSense controller!
The look itself of the new DualSense is quite an upgrade from the DualShocks we’ve grown accustomed to. It’s bigger in size and a bit heftier in weight and just catches your attention immediately with its primarily white color. It now makes use of USB-C for charging too. It still features a built-in speaker, motion control support, and a touchpad, with the addition of a built-in microphone so you can chat with your friends online while you play!
On the left side of the controller, the “share” button has been replaced with the “create” button which pulls up a system-level menu that lets you choose between taking screenshots, saving the recent moment of your gameplay as a video clip, or starting a new recording.
What is currently blowing gamers’ minds right now, though, is the “adaptive” trigger resistance. As seen in the video below, the L2 and R2 buttons now “fight back” to give realistic tension to your actions in your game, such as when you’re shooting with a bow and arrow or shooting a gun.

The last cool thing about the DualSense controller is the body texture that aims to prevent it from accidentally slipping out of a player’s hands. If you take a closer look, the entire surface is filled with tiny shapes—the PlayStation’s iconic shapes of circles, squares, crosses, and triangles, of course.
The Sony PS5 is set to drop in all gaming stores locally on December 11, 2020. It will be priced at PHP 27,990.00.
