Liza Soberano has become fast friends with her “Lisa Frankenstein” co-star Kathryn Newton!
In snaps posted on her Instagram account, Liza celebrated her onscreen sister’s 27th birthday at Universal Studios Hollywood after a whirlwind of events leading up to the worldwide premiere of their new movie.
“Spent the whole day yesterday with this one. Happy birthday [Kathryn Newton],” Liza wrote in the caption of her post. “BTW, [“Lisa Frankenstein”] is out today so please make the birthday girl happy and watch our movie.”
The two posed in front of the Frankenstein Parking sign in reference to their film, at one of the fountains in the theme park, and while strolling around and riding a ride at the Super Nintendo World.

Kathryn expressed her love and gratitude for Liza in the comments section of her post, saying: “Couldn’t love you more! So grateful for our friendship.”
Liza and Kathryn played stepsisters in their movie directed by Zelda Williams with a screenplay by Diablo Cody who famously wrote “Jennifer’s Body.” Liza plays Taffy, a peppy, optimistic, and popular student while Kathryn portrays the titular role of Lisa, a shy and awkward girl haunted by a tragedy from her past. Cole Sprouse also plays a big role in the film as a deceased man who comes to life to win Lisa’s heart and seek revenge on those who have wronged her.
The dark romantic comedy is currently showing in theaters nationwide.
