The “Laglag Bala” scam has everyone on the fritz and afraid to travel and set foot in NAIA. While many thought the scam was over after a few officials were apprehended a few weeks ago, it seems that it’s just getting worse. Passengers – both local and foreign – are no longer sure who to trust as the people who are supposed to help us are also the suspects in the whole scam. However, one passenger had a different experience when the cab he took allegedly planted a bullet in his luggage.

Read Julius H.‘s narration of his friend’s experience below:
Rough English Translation:
“Beware of Vigil Taxi with the plate number on the photo below. Just last night, October 29, my fellow seaman was almost victimized on his way to NAIA. Luckily he noticed that the driver placed something in his luggage. He immediately texted me and asked what to do. I advised him not to go to the airport and instead drop by my boarding house. When he arrived, he spoke to the driver who was a bit arrogant. When we opened my friend’s luggage, that’s when we saw the 38 cal. bullet. To refrain from starting up a fight, and also because my friend had an international flight to catch, I just suggested that he grab another cab as I reported the incident to the police and LTFRB. To my fellow OFW, please be cautious. Who would’ve thought that this would come from the cab driver. Be careful and don’t let the driver handle your belongings.“

Yikes! A lot of us are familiar with the scam happening in NAIA, but finding out that it starts in the cab makes it even scarier. We do hope the proper authorities look into this.
What do you think of this?
motive?
Not only Laglag bala scam. It is also laglag pasahero. The moment you come out from the airplane, airport personnel looks at you as a goldmine. From customs, porters, immigration and taxi drivers, they will find a way to get anything from you. That has been a livelihood for those scalawags as added income. They think if you are from abroad you have a lot of imported goods or money. It is their way of life. And they have been doing this for sometime. Our airport is the most inefficient airport. It is also the most inconvenient. No wonder a lot of balikbayan are afraid to go home.
Ok? They do this then, what? What’s in it for them? Trip2 lang?
We should be cautious enough because this modus operandi are maybe financed by aviation security intelligence fund. They want to make a scenario that will improved the rating of NAIA from “worst airport to best detection facility” that even small bullet can be detected by their assets. The OTS and PNP-AVSEGROUP even the Malacañang are maybe in connivance to this show.
Scary why visit? Scared to visit so many scams so little help
