In a statement posted on her Instagram account yesterday, Kris Aquino begins by saying “nanay ako na binabalahura na ang mga anak.” She says that “stress is the number one enemy of autoimmune,” a disease she has been diagnosed with since 2018, and the rumors about her and her family have apparently taken a toll on her health.
The actress has spoken up with no holds barred regarding the rumors about her first-born child Josh impregnating someone, the sexuality of her youngest child Bimby, and her relationship with their former helper, Bincai, as well as with her former flame, Herbert Bautista.
She explains that her vulnerability is how much she loves her sons, and the reason why she defends them is that it’s not their fault that “they cannot count on their fathers,” their mother’s last name is Aquino, and “the lies” about her family “will continue until history gets rewritten.“
She was also baffled about the fact that people are still attacking her for contracting a sexually transmitted disease (STD) back in 2003. Apparently, her reason for announcing it to the public was because it will soon be used against her, and by telling the truth, “you will never fear about tomorrow because you faced up to it when it was happening.” Unfortunately, people kept on bringing it up.

She continues by stating that the political reality took away her chance to come back on free TV regardless of her life’s work. In spite of it all, she continues to stand by her father Ninoy Aquino’s belief that “the Filipino is worth dying for” and pray for the current administration because if they fail, we, Filipinos, will all fail. She even emphasized that this is not the right time for political divisiveness as millions of Filipinos are jobless, hungry, sick, have lost hope, died, and are likely to die due to the pandemic.
Aquino also expressed her disappointment for the misinterpretation of her goodwill and quoted an offensive blog post she read by a Diehard Duterte Supporter (DDS). Then, she asked her viewers, “sino ang nagtanggal ng freedom of speech sa Pilipinas?“
“I have no party affiliation pero alam ko kung sino ang napatalsik at sino ang gustong gusto kaming gantihan dahil kulang para sa kanila na pinapatay na nila ang dad ko,” she proclaimed.
Going back to her motherhood, she talked about her mother, former President Cory Aquino. She said that she is who she is today as a mom because she grew up with only one parent and that person is her role model. She breaks down as she recalls how her mom saved her and her siblings’ lives and fought so that they will not suffer from losing another parent. She could never let her mother down. “I am not here to attack but you leave me no choice but to defend,” she declared. “You can and you will attack me, but karapatan ko ipaglaban ang dignidad at pagkatao ng mga mahalaga sa akin.“
Aquino goes on to clarify that the people who matter to her are her sons, the memory of her parents, and if she finds someone who will truly love her in the future. She could never forget how her mom told her that when you truly love, “ilalaban mo hanggang sa huling hininga mo.“
Finally, she ends with a quote from Taylor Swift’s song, Mad Woman:
