Komiket, The Filipino Komiks Art Market, returns to its roots at Centris Elements, Quezon City, on February 28–March 1, from 10 AM to 8 PM, for a weekend full of talented creators, artists, designers, and makers who have bravely ventured into creating komiks and original art.
SUPPORT LOCAL CREATORS!
Readers, art enthusiasts, and the creatively curious can support local creators and artists this National Arts Month at Komiket QC. Explore and discover an exciting lineup of exhibitors, from crowd favorites Pol Medina Jr. of Pugad Baboy, AJ Bacar or SSKAIT, Drew Borja of Hunghang Flashbacks, art and poetry collective KuroSaku, comics publishers Kawangis Publishing, RAYGUN Press, Atomos Komiks, Libreriangelo, along with Komiket authors Mio Dagasan (Madaling Pagkonsumo) and Mike Alcazaren (Death Be Damned). Among the 500 artists showcasing their work is Komiket QC’s poster design artist, Art of Patoo.

FREE KOMIKET KOMIKS!
The first 1,000 attendees are in for a special treat, as each will receive a free copy of Komiket Komiks. Following in the footsteps of beloved Filipino komiks magazines like Funny Komiks and Pilipino Klassiks, Komiket will launch a fresh newsprint edition featuring new komiks from eleven fan-favorite and award-winning creators. Among these new titles are works by Tori Tadiar (Alas Kwatro), RH Quilantang (Batang Lapu-Lapu), Bambi and Olan Amago with Macoy (Inter Stella), Macoy and Cy Vendivil (Just Keep Dying), Arli Pagaduan (Time First), Patricia Ramos (Teacher Patti), Randy Valiente (Ang Komiks ng Komiks), Dr. Carlo Jose San Juan (Callous), Shawn Yohan (Bunganga Memories), and Pol Medina Jr. (Pugad Baboy). Even Komiket’s mascot, Komet, will have its own komiks strip by Ardie Aquino and Paolo Herras (Adventures of Komet). This collection is definitely worth the trip to Centris. Those who miss out can still purchase copies.
FANTASTICAL ACTIVITIES!
Attendees can also spend the day joining an exciting treasure hunt, stamp rallies, games, and raffle draws, or unwind while listening to artist talks, where exhibitors from komiks, art, and design share their journeys as creators. Saturday begins with Patti Ramos at 11 AM, followed by afternoon sessions from Marius Black of KuroSaku, MarbindaMartian (Marbin Macalino), Mio Dagasan, and Hunghang Flashbacks. On Sunday, Ng Yi-Sheng, Singaporean writer and Singapore Literature Prize winner, will drop by at 10 AM to share his work and research on queer Southeast Asian speculative fiction and fantastical arts through his article entitled “Dragon Fruit.” Afternoon sessions will feature CoolLetibles, Tristan Yuvienco, M.A. Del Rosario, and The Sylvan Arcade, discussing topics from creating art out of everything and combining art and poetry to comics releases and miniature crafts.
To cap off the swashbuckling weekend, take a photo at the booth with Studio A Studios. Loyal Komiket attendees can also get a Loyalty Card and avail of rewards to claim more event-exclusive prizes.
