CNN host and journalist Lisa Ling reveals the hateful messages she has received because of COVID-19. The host has been a target of hate speech and racially charged messages because of the pandemic.

On her different social media pages, the journalist posted the different messages people have sent to her. However, her children have also been a target of these negative comments. On one post, she even said, “As I’ve said before, for me, it’s just been online taunts — though one wished harm on my children.”

On a Facebook post, she also addressed the situation. “In times of crisis, it’s easy to want to blame someone or something. We are all stressed out,” she said. She also adds, “But for the time being, we need to focus on preventing further spread, trying to save those infected and making sure our frontline of defense — our health workers are protected.”
