Do we smell a potential victory for the Philippines?!
Fil-Am Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson has been reportedly confirmed to be eligible to play for the Philippines’ national basketball team!
According to several reports, Jordan has been a Filipino passport holder since he was 12 years old, and is now currently seeking formal approval for his eligibility to play for the Philippine team in FIBA!
This also means that Jordan has to be cleared by the LA Lakers and NBA before he can suit up for Gilas. But given how several NBA players have been able to play for different countries in FIBA due to their citizenship, we’re hoping this wouldn’t be a problem for the Fil-Am player.
Jordan is in the country again, observing Gilas Pilipinas’ practices and is reportedly familiarizing himself with the team’s system.
