Jason Momoa Wants to Play Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

We love Jason Momoa! We’ve loved him since he first appeared as Khal Drogo in the very first season of ‘Game of Thrones’. The role opened many doors for the actor and, just a couple of years ago, he debuted as Aquaman in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’. Eventually, Aquaman got a solo film, which became a critical and financial success.

There’s no denying that Jason Momoa’s Aquaman is going to be sticking around despite the DC Extended Universe’s shuffling. However, at Celebrity Fan Fest in San Antonio, Texas; Momoa shared that he’d love to play Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The crowd went wild with the revelation. He talked about Hugh Jackman recently retiring from the role, saying, “He was phenomenal. I grew up just loving Wolverine.”

We can definitely relate to that. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is a pop culture icon, after all. Despite this, though, don’t expect Momoa to cross the road to Marvel land anytime soon. ‘Aquaman 2’ is currently in the works and they’re targeting to release the film in December 2022.
