Jasmine Curtis-Smith did not beat around the bush when asked by talk show host Boy Abunda which actor she most enjoyed pairing up with onscreen.
During Abunda’s Fast Talk segment in his show “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” that aired last Monday, March 27, Jasmine was given the question: “Favorite leading man?”
Jasmine confidently replied: “Rocco Nacino.”
Rocco was Jasmine’s leading man in the Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean drama series “Descendants of the Sun” which starred Dingdong Dantes and Jennylyn Mercado as Lucas Manalo and Maxine Dela Cruz. Jasmine played the role of Lieutenant Moira Defensor, based on First Lieutenant Yoon Myung-ju portrayed by Kim Ji-won, while Rocco played the role of Technical Sergeant Diego Ramos, based on Master Sergeant Seo Dae-young portrayed by Jin Goo.
Jasmine also said that “Descendants of the Sun” was her favorite GMA teleserye so far.
In an interview with PEP last 2020, Rocco praised Jasmine for already “giving justice to the character” during the auditions and was pleased to have her be his leading lady for the show.
“Nung nakita namin si Jasmine tapos yung ginawa niya, lahat kami [napatango sa pagka-impress]. So kita naman, di ba? She deserves it. She’s giving justice talaga to the character,” he was quoted saying.
The tandem gained a lot of loyal fans during the run of the series particularly for their characters’ “Romeo and Juliet”-like love story, wherein they were both forbidden to be in a relationship and yet they chose to love each other anyway.
