Apparently, there is a buzz going around that suggests Robert Downey Jr. (RDJ) might be coming back as Tony Stark/Iron Man for the upcoming Black Widow solo movie.

The first movie to come out for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4, Black Widow is actually set after the events of Captain America: Civil War but before Avengers: Infinity War, making it a prequel rather than a continuation of the post-Endgame story.

RDJ is said to reprise his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man for Black Widow, releasing on May 2020, according to Deadline. Although there are lots of reports about other character cameos, this is the first time that a mention of Iron Man has been made.

However, in another report from Comicbook, RDJ’s cameo might not be as what others expect it to be. It might come from recycled footage, just like in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Scarlett Johansson will play the title role, Black Widow. It will also include David Harbour as Russia’s version of Captain America, Red Guardian, as well as Rachel Weisz and Florence Pugh as other Black Widow agents. The main villain of the film is Taskmaster, a character who is a formidable foe thanks to his “photogenic reflexes” that allow him to quickly observe and copy any person’s fighting style.

Black Widow will have a theatrical release on May 2020.
