INSPIRING: British Lawyer to Run 500KM to Raise Fund for Pinay Helper’s Son with Cancer

At the start of 2016, British lawyer Isabelle Claisse who is based in Singapore shaved her head to raise up to $63,000 for her Filipino house helper’s son who is battling cancer. This is according to a post on Strait Times.

This time, Isabelle aims to further raise more fund by running 17km to and from work every day. Additionally, she will add extra distances over the weekends to clock a total of 500km by the end of the month. Through this, she aims to raise up to $12,000.

The beneficiary of her act of kindness is Dave Caba, her helper Mariza’s 11-year-old son who is battling leg cancer. Dave is currently in the Philippines.

Dave has already undergone two operations to replace his cancerous leg bone with an implant. He also completed chemotherapy. He will be needing medical assistance, which is said to cost around $200 per day for six weeks. On top of that, he has hospitalization bills.

Isabelle is asking individuals and businesses to sponsor her for every kilometer that she runs. She has made a Facebook page to document her 500KM journey, check it out at www.facebook.com/runfordave/.
