Creativity and practicality met when Engineer Alex We Jr. opened InnBox Hotel in Daraga, Albay last May 2018. InnBox is a drive-through hotel in Bicol made of upcycled shipping containers with colors inspired by the bright city of Amsterdam.
Thanks to the eco-friendly trend in the accommodation industry, many have explored the use of shipping containers since their thick and durable Corten steel makes them almost indestructible. With a proper installation of wall and ceiling insulation, InnBox’s modern and eco-friendly rooms will give you the comfort that you need during your stay.
All of the rooms are air-conditioned and have an en suite bathroom equipped with a hot and cold shower.
Inspired by drive-inn hotels, the showers have glass walls and roller blinds. Some rooms have their own car or motorbike garages to ensure the safety of your vehicles as needed.
Ensuring affordability, the rooms are furnished with just the bare necessities: a very comfortable bed, side tables, a table and a chair for working, and of course, a strong WiFi connection that’s perfect for those who are always online like me.
My mobile network wasn’t strong inside the room for some reason, but I have no complaints about the WiFi because its speed made me get everything done as quickly as I could and also gave me more time to upload quick snippets of my trip on Instagram and chat with my friends about how amazing the place is!
InnBox is a decent, modern, and eco-friendly place that’s perfect for any type of traveler. You can stay for 3 hours, 6 hours, or 24 hours to accommodate those who are only traveling for a short period of time. The front desk is open 24/7, so guests can check in and out anytime that they want.
What makes it even more convenient is that it is situated just 10 minutes away from Legazpi Airport and 15 minutes away from Legazpi Business District where most of the best restaurants are. It is also near the center of Daraga where banks, convenience stores, and fast-food chains can be found with ease.
Aside from the convenience and comfort that InnBox gives, what made my stay even better was how well their staff is trained. They treat guests really well not because it’s part of their job but because it is just how they are as people.
One of them even connected me to a friend of theirs when I was in need of a motorbike. I left the day they were having a Christmas party and one of them checked up on me to ensure that someone was there to help me check out.
