Here’s your first look at Quentin Tarantino’s next film ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’

After a long foray into the Western genre, Quentin Tarantino is back with an old-school L.A. story in his classic style. Months of rumors on what this new project would revolve around have finally been cleared up. Not only do we have the first photos which give an extensive look at the film, but we also finally have some details of the plot.

Vanity Fair describes the film as “a sprawling tale of counterculture California and the final days of Hollywood’s Golden Age.” According to them, the film is set in the summer of 1969 and uses the Charles Manson murders as a backdrop. It utilizes this time as an era, and not just an event or tragedy that happened — though what that means exactly, I’m not really sure.

Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood is said to focus on 3 main protagonists. Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio star as Cliff Booth and Rick Dalton respectively, a duo both on-screen and off-screen. Pitt’s character is the long-time stunt double and friend to DiCaprio’s Dalton. Dalton is a “faded Western TV star struggling to transition to movies.”

The third principal character is Margot Robbie who plays Sharon Tate. Tate was (possible spoilers ahead) one of Charles Manson’s real-life victims as well as Roman Polanski’s wife. She will be entering the film as the neighbor of DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton.

Joining these 3 actors is quite the star-studded cast. Al Pacino will be playing Dalton’s agent, Marvin Schwarzs (pictured below). There are reports of Lena Dunham as Catherine “Gypsy” Share, a former member of Manson’s family. Austin Butler, Maya Hawke, Lorenza Izzo, James Marsden, Dakota Fanning, Emile Hirsch, and Damien Lewis are said to be part of the cast as well. They will be playing a mix of fictional and real people.

The film is set to premiere in America on July 26, 2019. Hopefully, this means that we’ll be getting a trailer soon.
