Here’s What We Know So Far About the Wonder Woman Sequel

Wonder Woman

Many are calling Wonder Woman the best DC Extended Universe film since The Dark Knight, and much of the praise has been heaped on Gal Gadot, the actress who plays the titular role. She’s beautiful, she’s charming (just check out all her interviews), and she can kick butt (she filmed Wonder Woman while five months pregnant). Many of us are still reeling from the film’s brilliance and there’s already news about a sequel.

Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming sequel:

The sequel’s timeline has not been confirmed, but it was revealed that it will be set in the past, just not in World War I like the first film. Warner Bros. head Toby Emmerich told Variety, “it will take place somewhere between 1917 and 2017.”

The first film’s director Patty Jenkins has not been announced the sequel’s director, but she’s already working on a treatment with DC head Geoff Johns. According to Johns, “The goal is to make another great Wonder Woman film. I had a blast making it with Patty the first time. We’ve got a cool idea for the second one.”

Jenkins announced that the sequel will be set in the United States.

Whatever the case, it will surely be a success. The first Wonder Woman film has already grossed $573 million worldwide.
