Over four areas have now been declared under state of calamity due to typhoon Mario (Fung-Wong) and the southwest monsoon. As of this afternoon, Marikina City, Dagupan (Pangasinan), Cainta (Rizal), and Cebu City have been declared, while other cities in Metro Manila are experiencing non-stop rains.
As of posting, PAGASA has issued the red warning level for Metro Manila, Bataan, Zambales, Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, Cavite and Batangas, which means that severe flooding is expected. The orange warning level is issued for Quezon and Pampanga, which means that flooding is threatening. Meanwhile, Tarlac and Nueva Ecija have been issued the yellow warning, which means that flooding is possible in low-lying areas. The next update will be released at 6PM tonight, on the PAGASA Facebook and Twitter pages.
PAGASA has also announced that Mario will leave the Philippine area of responsibility on Sunday.
