Someone Made One of 2020’s Scariest Things into a Halloween Costume: the Dreaded Zoom Meeting

The year 2020 definitely brought us tons of scary things. To those working from home, one of them is definitely the endless Zoom meetings every day of the week (coupled with bad Internet and noisy chickens or dogs in the background).

This is what gave a father of two from Iowa an idea to create an amazing Halloween costume that will definitely make adults tense with fright.

Greg Dietzenbach, a creative director of an advertising and marketing agency, designed a life-sized Zoom meeting for his 12-year-old daughter to wear while trick-or-treating around their neighborhood that included nine participant windows, including an empty space in the middle for her to see through and a giant iPad at the top with a front-facing camera that will capture the person that her daughter is directly speaking to.

The other seven participants are a few familiar Halloween creatures: the Invisible Man, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, a Werewolf, Frankenstein, Dracula, a Mummy, and a Witch.

“My kids challenge me every year to make a unique costume,” Dietzenbach said. “Halloween was one of my favorite holidays when I was a kid and I’m happy to share my love of Halloween with my kids.”

“2020 has been tough, it’s nice to know we’ll be giving some joy to others (at a safe distance of course),” he added.
