Summer is the season of adventure when the sun shines brighter and the urge to explore kicks in. It’s about seizing carefree moments, making lasting memories, and embarking on exciting road trips.
That’s what GRIND Philippines did when they invited a select group of celebrities, influencers, content creators, and media members to join The GRIND Epic Getaway.
The GRIND Epic Getaway on March 22-23, 2024, was a two-day summer escape to scenic Baler, Aurora, hosted by Costa Pacifica Resort in partnership with Mazda Philippines. The event aimed to create memorable experiences through yoga, surfing sessions, and a lively evening of dinner, drinks, and live music. It also spotlighted local establishments, helping foster community connections.
The personalities who took part in the event were actress Glaiza de Castro, actor JC Santos and wife Shyleena Herrera, actor Alex Diaz, content creator couple Bea Benedicto and Jech Tiu, model and entrepreneur Brandon Espiritu, action sports influencer Yanna Aguinaldo, fitness influencer Lexi Noval and Josef Werker, content creator Nina Mory, professional MMA fighter John Adajar, surfers David Rainey and Jayr Ontong, skater content creator Jenny B., adventure vloggers The Lost Boys, and singer-songwriter Nicole “Peaceful Gemini” Leonar.
The first day kicked off with lunch at Kubli Bistro, followed by a coffee at Brewbox Baler. The highlight activity was an invigorating Vinyasa Yoga session at the Kahanamoku Bed & Breakfast Baler, and the day ended with dinner and drinks – complete with live acoustic jamming at the Hungry Surfer restaurant. Day two began with an Introduction to Surfing session in the morning, and was supposed to be followed by a trip to Ditumabo Falls. However, inclement weather dashed those plans as heavy rains persisted.
“Regardless of the challenges we faced, we’re delighted to hear that our participants had a blast and found the experience to be incredibly fun and epic,” shared Kent Villacarlos, Senior Brand Associate for GRIND Philippines.
The idea for the epic getaway event was for it to be the highlight of the brand’s 2024 summer campaign, which was aptly named Epic Summer Roadtrip. With the success of its maiden staging, however, the GRIND Epic Getaway is now being considered as the brand’s flagship event.
“We envision it becoming a hallmark program for our brand, held either annually or biannually. Our team is fully dedicated to advancing this initiative, infusing it with thrilling activities and experiences that will captivate our audience and elevate the brand even further,” Villacarlos said.
Looking ahead, Villacarlos shares that future iterations of the event could be open to a bigger portion of the brand’s community. “Exploring the possibility of opening the event to the public aligns perfectly with our vision for the GRIND Epic Getaway. We believe opening up the event could greatly enhance its reach and impact.”
