Good News! Green Sea Turtle Rescued in La Union

A few days ago, locals of Brgy. Lingsat in La Union noticed a green sea turtle, one of the many endangered species found in the Philippines, struggling to crawl along the shore. Sea patrollers of the “Bantay Dagat” of the Lingsat Marine Protected Area (LMPA) were quick to call the City Veterinary Office and the concerned agencies that offered medical treatment to the wounds of the sea turtle.

At a whopping 100-kilos, it was known that the sea turtle was trying to get to higher ground to lay her eggs. She was released to the wild soon after treatment.
