The PUP Bagong Himig Serenata, resident choral group of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, held their Golden Anniversary Concert last year, December 6, Friday at the PUP Theater, COC Compound.
The event begun at 5:00PM. The concert was graced with the different batches from 1969 to Present: KaSaPa, Bagong Himig, and Bagong Himig Serenata.
Melodies brought by these generations of singers united as one.
It was also a momentous event for all, celebrating the founding anniversary of the group, together with the birthday of Mr. Raffy Amaranto, founder of KaSaPA.
Promising pieces of the different batches was also featured during the event. Bahay Kubo, Orde-e, Baba Yetu, and Salidummay.
The concert was organized by the present batch lead by their president, Jamille Logmao, a 2nd year broadcasting student, and choirmaster, Mark Gregory Isip, University Center for Culture and the Arts (UCCA) Music Section Chief. Trophies and certificates of recognition were awarded to the group’s former choirmasters, presidents, and resident arrangers at the end of the program.
