Various cities around the Metro – including Quezon City, Pasay, Marikina, and Caloocan – have started to lift the liquor ban that was set during quarantine, but Senator Sherwin Gatchalian points out that this might be a bad idea.
This is not a good idea. Drinking is a social activity. And you when you socialize at this time, you get infected.

His brother, Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian, has also spoken up about the liquor ban, stating that he hasn’t had alcohol since March, either.
He tweeted: “Hindi lang sorry kids, Sorry Rex din! Still no beer! Last time my body had some form of alcohol was March 11, was invited to have drinks with our Barangay Officials of Punturin pero that night pa lang we knew things were going to get rough, yan ang night WHO said pandemic na eto.”
