Looking for an awesome series to binge-watch this weekend? Look no further, The Night Agent is one of Netflix’s newest series that has surely made a mark worldwide!
This is based on a novel by Matthew Quirk and it is a character-based action-thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Honestly, this series was so gripping to watch that I was able to finish this 10-episode series in 2 days (please don’t judge me), but I’m sure you could as well.
The series is so good that they already secured a second season because it achieved worldwide success as it immediately reached Netflix’s top 10 in 93 countries!

What was the secret to their success? We got the chance to interview Shawn Ryan their screenwriter and he said that the formula that they did for “The Night Agent” was going deep with their characters. Due to their budget concerns, it made them think outside of the box and make them think of how to fill in the extra minutes without any additional car chases or any big explosions. Focusing more on storytelling which helps the viewers get to know the characters and fall in love with Peter and Rose.
Aside from Shawn Ryan, we were also able to talk to Gabrielle Basso, who played Peter in this series. Gabrielle is not new to the entertainment industry, he has been acting since 2010 but since he was exposed to it as a kid he felt that he was just paid to make believe. Given that this is his first role as an adult actor he felt that this is a bit different—that it is an actual job. But we must say he did a good job!
