It was reported today that former senator Jinggoy Estrada was arrested for allegedly violating the guidelines of the enhanced community quarantine.
San Juan City Police chief Col. Jaime Santos confirmed the news, saying that Estrada did not follow the “stay-at-home” order issued by San Juan City, and continued distributing fish in a barangay.
“May nakarating na reports as well as photos na violated ‘yung social distancing saka ‘yung proper handling of food,” Santos said, according to GMA News. [“There have been reports and videos that social distancing and the proper handling of food were violated.”]
Estrada and his family have organized relief efforts through Misyon Foundation, led by his daughter Janella.
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora added that Estrada is not authorized to conduct relief efforts and that he has not coordinated with the local government.
Estrada said that he was wearing personal protective equipment while distributing food.
