Florence Fling: Classic and Chic Pieces for You!

 

Like Leighton Meester, I consider myself to be a style chameleon (click here to look at the different style stereotypes I’ve channeled.) Over the years, I’ve channeled preppy Charlotte York, fun and wacky Carrie Bradshaw, serious Miranda Hobbes, and even channeled a bit of Samantha Jones when the night calls for my inner goddess to take over. While I have so much fun dressing up and channeling the different personas of myself, whenever I shop around looking for new pieces to add to my wardrobe, I often find myself gravitating towards a classic white button down top, an A-line dress, dainty ballet flats, etc. because no matter how many times I try on my favorite Sex and the City characters’ styles, I always always go back to my own style: classic chic. As Nina Garcia once said, “Style is a deeply personal expression of who you are, and every time you dress, you are asserting a part of yourself.”

While browsing through my list of bookmarked online stores, Florence Fling, a relatively new brand caught my eye. Being the younger, wackier, and Manila version of Rebecca Bloomwood, I couldn’t stop myself from pressing the view products button. As soon as the page finished loading, I knew I had finally met my brand. All of the Florence Fling pieces scream “BUY ME!” and in that moment, I knew my uncle would realize in just a few days how he made a HUGE mistake in entrusting me with a credit card (just kidding, Aku!)

Joking aside, Florence Fling’s creations are just breathtakingly beautiful. I mean just look at these designs:

From the red halter dress down to my current obsession, the modern take on the A-line dress… don’t you just wanna grab these babies? I know I do!

But just like in the the real world, in a sea of beautiful creatures, there will always be that something that is just more; something that will stand out from the rest. And here are some of those stand-out pieces from Florence Fling that really caught my eye, and rocked my fashion-obsessed world.

 

Geometric Top

What I love about this top from Florence Fling is that it screams versatility from the first stitch down to the last. While a career woman would have paired this top with a pencil skirt perfect for work, as a college student, my friend, Fern, decided to take this top and pair it with a pair of cute white shorts and casual black flats perfect for running errands around the city.

 

The Cocktail Dress

 

If you open my closet, you can see a whole section of pink dresses and I love them all equally. But this pink cocktail dress from Florence Fling is the current apple of my eye. I love how the material hugs the body of the wearer, yet allows the woman to breathe comfortably. The strategically placed drapes distract passers-by from focusing on the unwanted flabs as well! Sophia Vergara would love to wear this Florence Fling creation to one of her Hollywood parties for sure!

 

The Ruffle Skirt

Ever since I first saw this structured black ruffle skirt from Balenciaga,I became obsessed with ruffle skirts. But while this skirt is just to die for, I don’t see myself wearing this anywhere.

So when I saw this ruffle skirt from Florence Fling, I swear my heart just skipped a beat…twice!

This skirt from Florence Fling makes me feel so refined and at the same makes me want to salsa like Julianne Hough! I have nothing but love for this skirt.

So When In Manila readers, in life, we always wish that we can and will find our own person; just like how the late Cory Monteith was to Lea Michele or on a much happier note, how Mr. Big is to Carrie Bradshaw. But at eighteen, I don’t think I’m ready to meet my person yet. Well, not for a few years or so at least. So for now, I’ll just settle with meeting my brand; the brand that makes my heart flutter like crazy: Florence Fling.
