ESTADISTIKA 2015 MDGs on Track: Assessing the Millennium Development Goals for 2015 through Statistics
The UPLB Statistical Society, a duly recognized academic organization in the University of the Philippines Los Baños which is committed to the pursuit of academic and professional excellence, is working towards the advancement and promotion of the proper application of Statistics in all fields of learning and endeavors.
Hence, the organization established Estadistika in 2007. It is an annual inter-high school invitational Statistics Quiz, Essay Writing and Poster-Making Contest participated by exceptional public and private schools in the CALABARZON and National Capital Region.
This year, the organization is privileged to hold the 9th year of Estadistika in cooperation with the Philippine Statistical Authority.
The event primarily aims to instill the value of Statistics among students and to encourage inclusion of Statistics in the high school curriculum in consonance with the theme “MDGs on Track: Assessing the Millennium Development Goals for 2015 through Statistics”.
The entire quiz contest encompasses Qualifying Elimination Round, Qualifying Exhibition Round, and Final Round. All questions that will be asked came from the field of statistics, statistics-related sciences or disciplines, and applications of the said area.
