Ariana Grande wasn’t in attendance at the Grammy Awards on Sunday where she won her first-ever Grammy Award.
She won the best pop vocal album trophy for “Sweetener,” where she bested the likes of Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Shawn Mendes,ย and Camila Cabello. Although she skipped the pre-telecast ceremony, she wrote on Twitter that her win was “wild and beautiful.”
“I know I’m not there tonight. Trust, I tried and still truly wished it had worked,” she said on Twitter.

Without Grande, performers at the Grammys will include Cardi B, Dolly Parton, Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Diana Ross, J Balvin, Camila Cabello, Brandi Carlile, Dan + Shay, H.E.R., Little Big Town, Post Malone, Chloe x Halle and Dua Lipa.
Ariana released her new album, “Thank U, Next” on Friday.
